The Micorocosm of Adamantios Diamantis

Some years ago I became more familiar with the work of Adamantios Diamantis through my friend and colleague Stan Vreede. Stan talked to me about the significance of the drawings and drafts that ultimately culminated in Diamantis epic painting The world of Cyprus. All this happened when The world of Cyprus was still an the Teloglion Foundation of art in Thessaloniki. The idea the eventually crystallized was to create an inventory of Diamantis world for the sake of the family living abroad.

This photographic documentation was to take place at the family’s ancestral home – the home Diamantis shared with his beloved Antoinette in Onasagorou street in Nicosia always in the presence of family members
